ABOUT OUR SERVICES
What type of massage do you offer at Release n Relax?
We specialise in relaxation massage, which is a smooth, flowing style designed to promote deep relaxation, relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and enhance overall wellbeing. This service is ideal for stress relief, mental clarity, and a moment to reset your nervous system. While we don’t currently offer remedial massage, Jake is in training toward qualifications that will allow us to offer clinical services in future.
What’s the difference between relaxation and remedial massage?
Relaxation massage is focused on calming the body and mind using lighter, soothing strokes. It's ideal for stress, anxiety, poor sleep, or general muscle tension. Remedial massage, on the other hand, targets specific issues like injury, chronic pain, or posture imbalances and involves assessment and deeper, more specific techniques. We’ll be offering remedial in the future once qualifications are completed.
Where is your clinic located?
Our primary clinic is located at 5C/51 Jindalee Road, Port Macquarie. This location is peaceful, clean, and designed for your comfort. We also provide on-street parking and ask clients to note there are stairs at the location.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
What should I expect before my first session?
Once you've booked, you’ll receive a confirmation message and a quick consultation form to fill out (either online or in person). This helps us tailor the session to your needs. You’ll also get key info like how to find us, parking tips, and what to expect.
Do I need to bring anything?
Nope—just yourself and an open mind. We provide everything including towels, oils, and music. If you have a medical condition, recent injury, or are pregnant, please let us know beforehand so we can assess suitability.
DURING YOUR MASSAGE
What should I wear?
You’ll be asked to undress to your comfort level and lie under the provided draping. Only the part of the body being worked on will be uncovered at any time. Most clients undress down to their underwear, but you can choose what feels best for you.
Is the massage tailored to my needs?
Absolutely. Before your session, we’ll talk briefly about your goals and any areas you want us to focus on or avoid. Your massage is completely customised based on your preferences, pressure tolerance, and physical needs.
Can I request lighter or firmer pressure?
Yes. Communication is key—please let Jake know at any time during the massage if you'd like the pressure adjusted. Your comfort is our priority.
Do I need to talk during the massage?
That's totally up to you. Some clients enjoy a quiet, peaceful experience while others like to chat. We follow your lead.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
What should I expect after the massage?
You may feel very relaxed, sleepy, or even slightly light-headed. This is completely normal. Drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activity for a few hours, and give yourself some downtime if possible.
How often should I get a massage?
For general stress relief, many clients benefit from fortnightly or monthly sessions. If you're dealing with high levels of stress or persistent tension, weekly appointments can offer quicker results.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Can I receive massage if I’m pregnant?
Currently, we do not provide pregnancy massage. If you're in your second or third trimester and looking for relaxation, we recommend contacting a specialist prenatal massage therapist.
What if I have a medical condition?
Massage can be helpful for many conditions, but there are times when it's not advised. Please disclose any chronic illnesses, injuries, or medications on your intake form. In some cases, we may require clearance from your healthcare provider.
What if I’m feeling unwell?
If you're experiencing cold or flu symptoms, fever, or contagious illness, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment. Massage can worsen symptoms and increase risk to others.
CANCELLATIONS & POLICIES
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly request at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. No-shows or late cancellations may be charged the full session fee, as we set aside this time especially for you.
What if I arrive late?
Late arrivals may result in a shorter session to avoid delaying other clients. The full fee still applies.

Mobile
What is mobile massage?
Mobile massage is a professional massage therapy service delivered in the comfort of your home or accommodation. I bring everything needed – massage table, clean linen, oils – so you can fully relax without needing to travel.
Do I need to provide anything?
Nope! I bring everything required. All you need is a clean, quiet space (around 2x2 metres) where I can set up the massage table. A fan or aircon is helpful in warmer weather.
What types of massage do you offer?
I specialise in relaxation massage – perfect for stress relief, improving sleep, and easing general muscle tension.
How long are the sessions?
Standard mobile massage sessions are 60 minutes.
Are your massages suitable for everyone?
Relaxation massage is generally safe, but if you have medical conditions, injuries, or are pregnant, please let me know when booking so I can tailor the treatment or advise appropriately.
Can I book for more than one person?
Yes, multiple back-to-back bookings at the same location are welcome. Each person must book a separate appointment in advance.
What if I need to cancel?
I understand life happens. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a fee.
